Wanderdog Charity Fundraising
This summer Wanderdog decided that we would like to raise money for a charity very close to our hearts - Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR), in Northern Cyprus.

This wonderful animal rescue, nestled on top of a mountain in Northern Cyprus, is solely funded by public donation. Since 1997 when they opened, they have made it their mission to rescue as many dogs and cats as they can from homelessness, abandonment and abuse. When we last visited the centre in 2017 they had 200 dogs and roughly 50 cats to care for daily.
Recently KAR faced a massive crisis when distemper spread through the centre, sadly taking the lives of many dogs. For a few months the centre was in lockdown, but thankfully through the hard work and dedication of the people who work and volunteer there they have re-opened their doors again.
KAR has a new goal now to build an exercise and enrichment area for the dogs. This way they can guarantee that every dog has the opportunity to leave the confines of their kennels for proper exercise and mental stimulation. This is especially important when it's too hot to walk around the mountain during the heat of summer. So we decided that we would help raise funds to put towards this goal.

How did we raise this?
Snuffle mats!
Wanderdog had great fun making 21 very colourful snuffle mats for our doggie clients. We rose £512 in snuffle fun! Here is our Lucy posing with one of the snuffle mats she secretly wanted to keep for her self! :D

A Charity Raffle!
Wanderdog would also like to thank everyone who took part in our charity raffle. Our top prize winner won a super Furbo dog camera! Second prize won a free dog training session with us, and third won a fun Kong dog toy and keyring. In total we made £252.50!
